Our Service

The Attendance100 School Attendance Improvement Service provision includes dealing with pupils who are deemed as being Persistently Absent (PA) from school.

We start by working with families of all pupils with an attendance of 90% or below. Intervention will always be undertaken with those with whom Schools / Academies have concerns for example those who are in danger of being PA or those deemed as vulnerable (for example pupils subject to Child Protection or those open to the Common Assessment Framework)

Our School Attendance Improvement Service includes:

  • Advice and guidance to schools regarding registration codes and keeping a register
  • Engaging with pupils, parents or carers with whom there are attendance related concerns, through home visits, letters and meetings
  • Liaising with Schools / Academies, parents and relevant agencies regarding any issues impacting on a pupils' attendance
  • All correspondence from initial referral onwards
  • Unlimited home visits in dealing with cases of attendance concerns
  • Organisation and attendance of meetings to establish reasons for absence in accordance with relevant School / Academy attendance procedures
  • Completion of all paperwork required by the Schools / Academy to allow the local authority to consider the merits of a case for prosecution
  • Sign-posting where applicable
  • Attending or chairing multi-agency meetings where applicable
  • Compiling or supporting Child Protection referrals and attending Child Protection case conferences
  • Develop and maintain good external links with agencies across the LEA
  • Work to individual schools ethos relating to attendance
  • Service-led support will be differentiated to suit individual school and pupil needs
  • All intervention openly passed on to each school weekly to allow full transparency of the service provided
